    Since the Olympic medal in Atlanta 1994, Ecuador has not been well represented until now with the appearence of Ángela Tenorio, the new JEWEL of national athletism. With only 19 years old, she is the national and southamerican champion in Sprints 100m, 200m and relays 4x100m, where she holds various records. In addition, she is the only athlete in the history of Ecuador to obtain 2 medals, silver and bronze, two years in a row in the World Youth Championships Donestk 2013 and Oregon 2014 in 100m and 200m. These accomplishments make her one of the best three young athletes worldwide according to the IAAF.
